DO’s & DON’t in Mumbai City

DO’s & DON’t in Mumbai City

They dont call its Bombay anymore (I miss it though), Mumbai has lot to offer than just Marine drive.

Do’s

  • Travel by local train, make sure you do this in off-peak hours.
  • DO travel by three-wheelers or auto rickshaws.
  • Visit religious places like; Siddhi Vinayak temple, Haji Ali, Mahim Church, Mount Mary Church, ISKON temple
  • Explore Kaneri caves in National Park.
  • Try out local street food; you can find at every corner.
  • Explore Anglo-Indian architecture & buildings in South Mumbai.
  • Enjoy nightlife.
  • Always ask taxi or auto to ride on meter, most of them agree, if they dont tell them you will approach police or better use Ola or Uber.
  • Watch a play at Prthvi cafe.
  • Shop at some of the flee markets like; colaba causeway, Linking Road etc.
  • Visit one of the Irani cafe, if possible for morning breakfast.

Don’t

  • At some railway station loitering is prohibited, you may be fined Rs. 600 for throwing cigarette butt.
  • DON’T travels anywhere during the peak rush hours of 7-11 am and 4:30-8:30 pm. Traffic jams can last for hours. If you are in the suburbs north of Mahim Creek, and cheaper and definitely more exhilarating than a taxi.
  • Don’t pass lewd comments (Especially if you are coming from North), its not normal here..you will send in a police station or worst on Social Media.
  • Don’t spoil beaches and sea face, as locals are making tremendous efforts to keep it clean.
  • Avoid getting Honey Trapped.
